Welcome to my Blog Spot

Hello Everyone and Welcome to my Fabulous Woman Blogspot!

Thank you for taking an interest for what I do at The Fabulous Woman Online Magazine.

What I Hope You Get Out of This Magazine, Blog Spot, Community.

While creating this magazine (thefabulouswoman.com) I realized that every woman is a novel. We are all multi dimensional... and like a diamond...we have many facets. We will have good days and bad days, and whenever someone thinks they have us figured out...we change! We are all dealing with personal struggles/pain in our lives. Our struggles are part of our personal journeys...our growth. Hang tight...your days will shine again. Each of us right now is in the process of creating our very own Fabulous Woman Story!

With every feature and article I am working to encourage, entertain, enlighten, empower, and educate women all over the world. I am working to honor and celebrate the innate abilities of women through personal stories, experiences, and talents and to create a place where one can grow. Dwelling on the problems in our lives will not bring about solutions. Read our articles in the magazine. Get to know other positive, talented, intelligent, and amazing women here who have so much to share... who want to share! Together, let us put the "us" back into "Fabulous."

In Gratitude,
Katharine

Dance, Play, Sing. Thanks Mom.

As I was jumping around on my small trampoline in my living room, watching our new copy of "Mama Mia" for the millionth time, I realized for that moment...I was the "Dancing Queen." Yes, even Meryl Streep herself would of been proud of my jumping endeavors! I can do tricks! lol! Don't read to much into that! Do you have a visual on this?

I glanced at my cats, who seemed quite entertained, and busted out in laughter. Their heads were actually following me as I jumped up and down. I wondered...why was I doing this? Boy this feels familiar!

I thought back to my childhood days of my own mother (you will appreciate this Mom) running around in her own living room in circles, with all of her kids following her, to the 80's songs like "Young Turks" by Rod Stewart and "Bad Girls" by Donna Summers (or was that 70's?). I thought back to the days of us all playing instruments in our living room forming our own band...hey, we weren't all that bad! It was fun!

Yes, fun.... something I think a lot of us forget to have. I know I do. We tend to get all caught up in the everyday routine and responsibilities of life. Routine can make us forget why we are alive and make us depressed! It can trap us...become our prison. And eventually...it's going to take some dear friend or family member to call us (usually we are crying hysterically by then blaming our hormones...and yes...sometimes it really is our hormones so get that checked) and say, "Get out and go do something different" or as Cher in Moonstruck would say "Snap out of It!" For a day...change your routine!

I think it's important to step outside of our box sometimes and just go do something different... something a little bit crazy! :) I'm not saying illegal. Don't go knocking off any vending machines or hot dog stands. I'm saying fun! Play! Take the kids out to the park...go bowling...walk around the mall and gab with an old friend. Pick up the phone and talk to someone you haven't in ages (thank you Tima your words helped). Go jump on a trampoline and entertain your cats so you can laugh at yourself. :) Something different to break the regular mundane routine.

Today, my own child appreciates my childlike behavior and playfulness. She laughs loudly as she joins me dancing around the living room to "Mama Mia." We even do the sing-a-longs (Karaoke) and do the dance routines together that are found on the dvd! Her laughter touches my heart like no other...it's a permanent imprint. Yes, the cats seem entertained but, we are making memories. Memories that will last a life time for her and I.

So now when I jump on the trampoline to these Abba tunes...it's not just my own childhood I'm remembering...it's my daughter's too! I'm helping her create her own. I know one day she too will dance in her living room (perhaps even on a small trampoline in front of her tv) to a then classic copy of "Mama Mia." I can just imagine her laughing hysterically with her own children. I would like to think she will stop...pause...and remember me dancing and singing around the living room with her. And, as Grandma once had written...Mom..."The Beat Will Go On."

Thanks Mom.
